The copy your client shares is no longer provably yours
You deliver final photos. They get posted, forwarded, re-uploaded — and every platform along the way strips the metadata and content credentials that tied the file to you. Weeks or years later, when a client, a platform, or a buyer asks whether that image is really your original, the honest answer usually rests on your say-so. This page is the working fix: seal the original at the moment of export, so the file can prove itself for the rest of its life — after the metadata is gone.
Seal at export
Photographer Original Seal batch-seals your finals as they leave your editor. For every file it fixes two measurements, per the DocLock standard: a SHA-256 fingerprint (the final cryptographic authority) and the pixel count (the primary check for photographs and artwork), gathered into a QR Trust Capsule. Out comes an Originals Record and a delivery card you can hand to the client with the files — the record of what the originals were, fixed at delivery.
Open the app: Photographer Original Seal — complimentary, runs entirely in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded anywhere; sealing happens on your own machine.
The verdict, demonstrated honestly
When this app was live-tested on 2026-10-29 against a known original and an edited twin of exactly the same size, the original verified — bit-for-bit the file that was sealed. The edited twin came back Integrity Alert: not Verified, and not a lazy pass/fail either. Its fingerprint differed while its pixel count still matched, and the verdict said so in plain language. That graded answer is the point: a changed file cannot quietly borrow the original's record, and a matching measurement cannot paper over a changed fingerprint.
The AI question, answered with a record
Sooner or later someone suggests the shot was generated. "No, it wasn't" is an opinion; a sealed Originals Record is evidence — this exact file, fingerprinted at export, on a date, delivered under your name. A seal cannot look inside an image and judge how it was made, and no honest tool can. What it does is fix the file's provenance at the moment of delivery, so an AI claim has to explain away a dated, checkable record instead of simply doubting your word. Seal an AI image and the record faithfully shows that instead — the seal proves origin and custody, not virtue. That is what makes it believable when it speaks for your real work.
What it is not
A seal proves a file is unchanged since it was sealed — not that what it depicts is true, un-staged, or fairly represented. It is not a certificate of authenticity for the scene, and it is not a C2PA replacement: it is built for the moment after credentials have been stripped, and it verifies offline, with no account, from the record itself.
Keep originals provable for decades
Sealing at export is the first half. Keeping the records verifiable across drives, platforms, and years is the second: the Proof Recovery & Continuity Kit covers exactly that. The full library of proof tools and explainers is in the Learn hub.
